TODAY’S “GOOD NEWS” – June 29, 2003

 MESSAGE:  “LIVING IN KINGDOM COME:

                             …Finding Your Way Around!”

SCRIPTURE:  Mark 1:1-15

KEY VERSE:  v. 14  “After John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Gospel of the Kingdom of God.”

FOCUS:  God’s call to Kingdom-life is both urgent and hopeful.

INTRODUCTION: “So if we ask, where is the Kingdom of God today?  Here is the Gospel answer:  it is wherever a man or a woman has made Christ the Lord of life and accepted the rule of God in the heart.  That is where the Kingdom is.  And that is the explanation of the sudden happiness that comes to any man who makes the great decision; it is the other world, the eternal Kingdom world, breaking through into time, coming above the surface in that man’s life.  The Kingdom of God is there.”                                ~ James S. Stewart

I.      THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS MORAL IN ITS MAKEUP

II.    THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS SPIRITUAL IN ITS NATURE

III.    THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS REAL TO THE EYE OF FAITH

CONCLUSION:  “The effect of resisting the Kingdom of God is that God’s rule is obscured.  The eye stops seeing it, the ear stops hearing it and the heart stops treasuring it.”                             ~ “Someone”

PREACHING:  Pastor Holland Lewis
