TODAY’S
“GOOD NEWS” – January 25, 2004 MESSAGE: “WE REALLY DO NEED EACH OTHER:
…In The Work Of Ministry!”
KEY VERSE: v. 12 “I am deeply grateful to Christ Jesus our Lord (to whom I owe all that I have accomplished) for trusting me enough to appoint me his minister…”
FOCUS: No one stands alone in ministry for Christ.
INTRODUCTION: “…The work of the grace of Christ in Paul’s heart was helped and supported by the faith and love he found in the members of the Christian Church; the effect of the grace of Christ was aided by the sympathy, understanding and kindness he received from men like Ananias, who opened his eyes and who called him brother, and like Barnabas, who stood by him when the rest of the Church regarded him with bleak suspicion.” ~ E. F. Brown
The Kingdom of God advances through the principles and procedures God has put in place, like these:
I. GOD’S KINGDOM OPERATES WITH A GOD-CALLED MINISTRY
II. GOD-CALLED MINISTERS REMAIN HUMAN, HAVING BASIC NEEDS
CONCLUSION: “Paul was a man of ‘one thing.’ ‘This one thing I do,’ he exclaimed. He had a great surging passion to make known the gospel, and he gave himself day and night to his work. And in writing to Timothy, he commanded, ‘be diligent in these things; give thyself wholly to them.’” ~ Oswald J. Smith
PREACHING: Pastor Holland Lewis
