TODAY’S “GOOD NEWS” – September 5, 2004

MESSAGE:  “GOD'S PRESENCE IN THE WORKPLACE”

SCRIPTURE:  Colossians 3:22-4:1

KEY VERSE:  v. 23  “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men.”

THINK ON THIS:  “What we need is a work ethic, which is informed by God's Word and religiously lived out in the workplace and in the Church.  The reason this is so important is that most of us spend eight to ten hours of our sixteen waking hours at work five or six days a week.  So how we work not only reveals who we are, but determines what we are.  The Christian discipline of work must be observed ‘de rigueus’ wherever God has placed us.”                                                                                   ~ R. Kent Hughes
